**STUNNING: Late 19th Century German ‘Pferd Pattern’ Meerschaum & Amber Pipe (12cm).**

This piece is in an EXCELLENT CONDITION- Graphic Design Relief is clear and detailed. Pipe remains in a Good State and has been subject to usage. Amber mouth-piece is intact and securely mounted. Equine figure is in good order and displays a minor chip to forelock & log.

An EXCELLENT example of a STUNNING, Late 19th Century German ‘Pferd Pattern’ Meerschaum & Amber Pipe. This piece appears to be in a VF state , with highly detailed Relief on both obverse and reverse of Equine figure. Surface appearance is unspoiled, expressing exquisite features. Evidence of slight handling is visible on surface – with two minor chips to horse forelock & log.

Mouthpiece is securely Mounted, and appears to be Baltic Amber from the former East Prussia province of the German Empire – most likely Königsberg or Memel. The ‘Pferd Pattern’ was popularized in the late 1700s & became a resurgent design motif in the late 1890s.

The ideal addition to any 1890s German / European Meerschaum Pipe collection or display- for the enthusiast seeking a unique period piece for their assortment.
