Vintage Stacy’s London Made Estate Pipe.
A vintage, quality rusticated estate pipe in the straight pot shape. Stamped “Stacey’s, London Made” and “Made in London, England” to the shank. In overall good vintage condition. Kindly view images above for more detail.
“Stacey’s” was likely the name of a tobacconist, retailer, or distributor.
“London Made” indicates it was manufactured in London, England, or at least intended to emphasize English manufacture. Many English pipe makers produced pipes for tobacconists that were stamped with the shop’s name instead of the factory’s.
The actual maker could have been one of several English manufacturers, but without additional markings it’s difficult to identify. Companies such as Comoy’s, Charatan, GBD, Loewe & Co., or Hardcastle all made private-label pipes for retailers at various times.
